Gum Diseases
Gum disease, also known as periodontal disease, is a common oral health condition that affects the gum tissues surrounding the teeth. If left untreated, gum disease can lead to serious complications, including tooth loss and systemic health issues.
Gum diseases occur when bacteria in the mouth form a sticky film called plaque along the gumline. If not removed through regular brushing and flossing, plaque can harden into tartar, which can irritate the gums and lead to gum inflammation or gingivitis. Symptoms of gum disease may include red, swollen, or bleeding gums, persistent bad breath, receding gums, and loose teeth.
In addition to proper brushing and flossing techniques, our periodontists may recommend professional dental cleanings and specialized treatments to address gum diseases. These treatments may include scaling and root planing, which involves deep cleaning of the root surfaces to remove plaque and tartar buildup. For more advanced cases, surgical interventions such as gum grafting or pocket reduction surgery may be necessary to restore gum health and support the teeth.
Don’t let gum disease rob you of your smile and oral health. Contact Colorado Gum Care today to schedule a consultation appointment and take the first step towards achieving healthy gums and a beautiful smile. Remember, early detection and treatment are key to successfully managing gum diseases and preserving your oral health for years to come.
Wisdom Teeth Removal
Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, are the last teeth to erupt in the mouth. For many individuals, wisdom teeth can cause a range of problems and complications that necessitate their removal. At Colorado Gum Care, our skilled and experienced oral surgeons are trained in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including wisdom tooth removal.
The process of wisdom tooth removal involves the extraction of one or more impacted or partially erupted wisdom teeth. An impacted wisdom tooth occurs when there is not enough space in the jaw for the tooth to fully erupt. This can result in the tooth becoming trapped or only partially breaking through the gumline. Partially erupted wisdom teeth can be particularly susceptible to infection and decay.
Wisdom tooth removal is typically performed under anesthesia to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. Our oral surgeons are trained in assisting with IV sedation, providing a safe and comfortable experience for our patients. The surgery itself involves carefully removing the impacted or partially erupted tooth through a small incision in the gum tissue. Any necessary bone removal may also be done during the procedure to allow for the extraction.
After the surgery, our team will provide you with detailed post-operative instructions to promote a smooth and speedy recovery. It is important to follow these instructions to minimize discomfort and reduce the risk of complications. Some common post-operative symptoms include swelling, slight bleeding, and jaw stiffness, but these usually subside within a few days.
Removing wisdom teeth can be an essential step towards maintaining oral health and preventing future dental problems. Even if wisdom teeth do not currently cause any pain or discomfort, they can still pose risks such as tooth decay, gum disease, and damage to surrounding teeth.
Our oral surgeons at Colorado Gum Care are skilled in performing wisdom tooth removal procedures with expertise ranging from simple extractions to more complex cases.
We are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and making your wisdom teeth removal experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Our state-of-the-art facilities, friendly staff, and personalized approach to care ensure that you receive the highest level of surgical and post-operative support. Dental Implants
Dental implants are a revolutionary solution for replacing missing teeth and restoring your smile. At Colorado Gum Care, our skilled oral surgeons are experienced in performing a full range of dental implant and bone grafting procedures.
A dental implant is a small titanium post that is surgically inserted into the jawbone to serve as a replacement for the root of a missing tooth. This provides a stable foundation for the attachment of a custom-made dental crown, bridge, or denture. Dental implants are known for their durability and natural-looking appearance, allowing you to confidently eat, speak, and smile.
Our state-of-the-art office setting in Colorado Springs is equipped with the latest technology and techniques to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Our oral surgeons are trained in assisting with IV sedation, providing a safe and comfortable experience for our patients throughout the dental implant process.
From the initial consultation to the placement of the implant and final restoration, our oral surgeons are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. We work closely with each patient to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses their unique dental needs and goals.
Whether you are missing a single tooth or multiple teeth, dental implants offer a permanent and dependable solution. Our experienced oral surgeons have the expertise to perform a full range of dental implant procedures, from simple cases to more complex situations requiring bone grafting.
Bone grafting procedures may be necessary in cases where there is insufficient bone in the jaw to support a dental implant. Our oral surgeons are skilled in performing bone grafting procedures to augment the bone structure, creating a stable foundation for the implant.
Pinhole Gum Grafting
Pinhole Gum Grafting is an advanced and minimally invasive technique used to treat receding gums and restore the health and appearance of your smile. This procedure is performed by our skilled oral and maxillofacial surgeons at Colorado Gum Care, who have expertise in a full range of dental implant and bone grafting procedures.
Receding gums can not only affect the aesthetics of your smile, but they can also lead to tooth sensitivity, root exposure, and even tooth loss if left untreated. Pinhole Gum Grafting offers a solution by repositioning the gum tissue to cover the exposed root surface.
The procedure begins with the surgeon making a small pinhole incision in the gum tissue near the affected area. Through this tiny opening, specialized instruments are used to gently loosen the gum tissue. The surgeon then guides the loosened tissue over the exposed root, covering it and repairing the receded area effectively.
One of the most significant advantages of Pinhole Gum Grafting is that it avoids the need for traditional gum grafting, which involves removing tissue from other areas of the mouth. This minimizes discomfort and post-operative pain for our patients, as well as reduces the healing time required.
Our state-of-the-art office setting in Colorado provides a comfortable and sterile environment for the Pinhole Gum Grafting procedure. Our oral and maxillofacial surgeons are trained in assisting with IV sedation, ensuring a relaxed and pain-free experience for our patients throughout the procedure.

Dental implants are the preferred choice for missing tooth replacement due to their durability, longevity, and ability to mimic the look and feel of natural teeth. Teeth-In-A-Day
Teeth-In-A-Day, also known as All-on-4 or Same-Day Smile, is an innovative dental solution that allows patients to receive a full set of new teeth in just one day. At Colorado Gum Care, our skilled oral and maxillofacial surgeons are experienced in providing Teeth-In-A-Day procedures to help patients regain their smiles and improve their quality of life.
Using advanced implant technology and surgical techniques, Teeth-In-A-Day eliminates the need for multiple surgeries and long waiting periods typically associated with traditional dental implant procedures. With Teeth-In-A-Day, patients can arrive at our state-of-the-art office in the morning and leave with a beautiful, functional set of teeth by the end of the day.
During the Teeth-In-A-Day procedure, our skilled surgeons strategically place dental implants throughout the jawbone, providing a stable foundation for a custom-made full arch of teeth. These implants are designed to fuse with the bone over time, creating a strong and durable support system for the prosthetic teeth.
One of the key advantages of Teeth-In-A-Day is the ability to provide immediate results. Unlike traditional dental implant procedures that require a healing period before placing the final teeth, Teeth-In-A-Day allows patients to walk out of our office with a fully functional set of teeth on the same day of their procedure. This means that patients can enjoy the benefits of their new teeth, including improved speech, enhanced chewing ability, and a natural-looking smile, without any significant downtime.
Teeth-In-A-Day not only offers convenience and immediate results, but it also provides long-lasting and reliable outcomes. The custom-made prosthetic teeth are carefully crafted to blend seamlessly with your existing teeth, ensuring a natural and aesthetically pleasing appearance. Further, the dental implants used in the Teeth-In-A-Day procedure are made from biocompatible materials such as titanium, which promotes bone integration and ensures the longevity of the implants.
Tooth Extraction
Tooth extraction is a common dental procedure that involves removing a tooth from its socket in the jawbone. At Colorado Gum Care, our team of skilled oral and maxillofacial surgeons is trained in performing a full range of dental procedures, including tooth extraction.
There are several reasons why a tooth may need to be extracted. This includes severe tooth decay, advanced gum disease, tooth infection, overcrowding, or a tooth that is damaged beyond repair. In some cases, wisdom teeth may also need to be removed if they are impacted or causing issues with the surrounding teeth.
During the tooth extraction process, our skilled surgeons will carefully numb the area around the tooth to minimize any discomfort. They will then gently and skillfully remove the tooth from its socket, using specialized instruments designed for the task. Our surgeons have expertise ranging from simple tooth extractions to more complex cases, such as impacted wisdom teeth or teeth with multiple roots.
After the tooth extraction, it is important to follow the post-operative instructions provided by our surgeons. This may include taking pain medication, applying ice packs to reduce swelling, and eating soft foods for a few days. Our friendly staff will also provide you with personalized care and guidance on how to care for the extraction site to promote optimal healing.
If you are experiencing dental issues that may require tooth extraction, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with our team. Our caring and compassionate oral and maxillofacial surgeons will diagnose and treat your dental condition with expertise, ensuring that you receive the highest level of care.
